Formed in 1917, the Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria’s largest provider of residential and community parenting programs in Victoria.   QEC’s vision is for children to get the best start in life. Our work recognises the important role parents/carers play in nurturing, protecting and enhancing the health, development and growth of their children to enable this best start in life.  Our team work in partnership with parents/carers to achieve this through support, education, mentoring and coaching.


The QEC residential unit based at Noble Park provides 1, 5 and 10 day programs for caregivers experiencing challenges with parenting. Families are provided with practical support, education and advice whilst residing at QEC.  Our practitioners assist families to develop an action plan, identifying goals they would like to achieve during their stay at QEC. We provide individual coaching, counselling and modelling to support this.


This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive team that promotes a focused approach for the prevention, early detection and intervention of physical, emotional or social factors affecting young children and their families.  This is a great opportunity to utilise your skills and experience and make a real difference to families lives.  As a Registered Nurse you will have the opportunity to work across multiple programs including Residential, Day Stay, Parenting Assessment and Skill Development Service and Group activities.


To be considered for this role you will possess:

Div 1 Nurse and/or Midwife

A further graduate qualification in Paediatrics, Maternal and Child Health Nursing or similar

Experience in working with families in the health/welfare sector (preferred)

Experience gained within a mother and baby unit will be highly regarded but is not essential
