QEC provides a range of specialised support, care and guidance to help parents manage the many challenges that arise during early parenting, from birth until 4 years. We provide services to Victorian families and specialise in working with vulnerable families in our community.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the coordination of referral and intake and to assess the appropriateness of referrals from Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to the Parenting Assessment and Skills Development program (PASDS). The Registered Nurse will liaise with DHHS protective workers to gather information and to triage the referrals with a view to setting up an intake and commencement of the program.

 

The Registered Nurse will attend visits with our families in their homes, providing support to our Early Parenting Practitioners to ensure a holistic approach to assessment, intervention and support to our families. 

 

This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse interested in the field of Early Parenting to join QEC in this unique and rewarding role.

 

 

To be considered for this role you will have:

 

Div 1 Registered Nurse/Midwife

Up to date theoretical knowledge of family and child health, development parenting and attachment

Ability to work in partnership with parents/carers to enhance their parenting capacity

Ability to make decisions regarding case direction and risk management in consultation with the team

Understanding of Government policy, legislation and guidelines (Including Best Interest Framework)

Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and analysing data
