When we learn to read and respond to messages from children and infants – whether they are

tired, hungry, excited, happy or confused, it makes an enormous difference to our interactions

with them. the first step in framing our interaction is recognising signs of engagement and

disengagement. When practitioners share these concepts with parents, those parents are then

empowered in their relationship with their baby and experience richer and more positive

interactions.

Playsteps is a parent and child play-based program helping parents

to strengthen their relationship and interactions with their child while

learning practical parenting skills and building local support

networks. This program has been researched and proven to be an
