The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria's largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based parenting services.

With our Residential Early Parenting Centre in Noble Park and Community home-based services across Victoria, we play a special role in providing parenting education and support to thousands of families every year to give their children the best start in life.

The Role:

As the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner at QEC, your role is highly valued and embraced as playing a key role in continuing to help promote our organisational culture of care and support for our people. Through proactive programs, education and systems, you will partner with our friendly and collaborative Leadership team to maintain a work environment focused on minimising risk to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing.

As the key OHS & wellbeing portfolio holder, you will be responsible for;

Delivering a range of workplace initiatives that continues to ensure the highest standard of safety culture across all QEC sites

Ensure compliance with obligations under all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and best practice, including WorkCover and injury management

Effective risk management and emergency response preparedness

Continuous review and improvement of OHSES policies, procedures, systems and services to maintain the highest level of safety awareness and wellbeing of our teams

Maintain up to date records and data, prepare reports on health, safety and wellbeing activities, audits, incidents and hazards.

Assist in the facilitation of employee health and safety learning programs

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in an OHS Coordination, OHS project management or risk management role

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the OHS Act, Standards and Codes of Practice

Demonstrated engagement skills in dealing with stakeholders of all levels and relationship building skills

Experience in development and implementation of Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategies, initiatives, policies and procedures (beneficial but not essential)

Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or less formal qualifications with extensive Health and Safety experience
